A GRANDMOTHER’S INFLUENCE
MODRN STUDIO is more than a brand — it’s a tribute to the past, a bold embrace of the future, and a celebration of the women who redefine what it means to live with purpose and style. Inspired by childhood memories of a curious, adventurous spirit and the quiet influence of my grandmother, I created MODRN STUDIO to merge two worlds: the timeless value of self-care and the modern need for luxury, comfort, and functionality.
From playful moments spent with my grandmother’s stethoscope, the seed for my future as a nurse was planted. But it wasn't just the healing power of medicine that I embraced — it was the desire to innovate and elevate every experience, every detail. And that’s exactly what we’ve set out to do with MODRN STUDIO.
MEET DANA
A love for nursing, a passion for design, and an unwavering drive led me from the campus of Xavier University of Louisiana, through five years of nursing in my hometown of Houston, TX, to the vibrant city of Los Angeles. Along the way, I discovered a deep desire to create something new — something that didn’t just fit into the mold of traditional scrubs.
After years of searching for scrubs that truly reflected my sense of style and comfort, I realized I could no longer settle. The standard scrubs on the market didn’t speak to me, didn’t fit my life. So, on my days off, I began sketching the designs that would eventually become the first phase of MODRN STUDIO. In December of 2017, I completed my first sample, and from that moment, there was no turning back.
Though my journey took me across the country, from Vermont to Sacramento, it wasn’t until I arrived to Los Angeles that I was able to fully bring my vision to life. I dove headfirst into garment production, partnering with local suppliers and refining every detail. MODRN STUDIO was born out of necessity — but more importantly, out of a desire to do something different, something bold, something luxurious.
